The Coalition meets the first Thursday of each month from 4pm to 5:30 pm at the UC Cooperative Extension Office at 1710 Soscol Avenue.

Napa County's Children & Weight Coalition Community Involvement

Since the coalition was formed in 2004, we have been involved in numerous community activities. A sampling of our local involvement:

• Participation in community & school health fairs
• Sponsored a conference "Helping your Child Reach a Healthy Weight" in October 2005
• Sponsored an eating disorders workshop for educators and health care professionals in 2005
• Presentations to health classes at Napa High
• Various presentations to child care providers, parents, health care providers on childhood nutrition, physical activity, childhood overweight
• Sponsored a series of parent education classes in 2006 on prevention of disordered eating, healthy weight and family nutrition.
• Involvement in NVUSD School Wellness Policy Committee
• Work with local medical providers to create resource list of local childhood overweight treatment programs.
• Purchase quality PE/play equipment for high risk elementary schools
