DESCRIPTION:Anti-Bias Community Of practice is a safe space for Early Childhood Educators to reflect\, discuss\, and put into practice their anti-bias lens. Conversations and content will include partnering with every family\, connecting with every child\, and designing universally designed environments with an equity lens. \nWho: Early Educators who want to design and provide children and families with equitable learning spaces that support and celebrate each child. \nWhy: Changing practices through self-reflection is hard work! Having a safe space to connect with other educators\, ask questions\, and share ideas can help you do this work in a meaningful and engaging way. \nWhen: First Wednesdays from 6- 7:30\, participants must be able to commit attending the majority of PLCs over an 18 month period (excluding summers). \nHow: Participants themselves will help develop each month’s agenda\, share resources\, and support each other as they strengthen their anti-bias practices. \n​Intended audience: Family child care providers\, and educators caring for young children other than their own. Participants must be living or working in Napa County \nHosted by Quality Counts\, First 5 Napa County and Community Resources for Children​ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nComunidades de práctica anti-prejuicios\n  \n\n\nA partir del miércoles 1 de marzo del 2023\n6:00pm – 7:30pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nComunidades de práctica anti-prejuicios es un spacio seguro para que los educadores del desarrollo infantil reflexionen\, conversen\, y pongan en práctica su perspectiva anti-prejuicios. Las conversaciones y temas incluirán alianzas con cada familia\, conexión con cada niño\, y planeación de ambientes de diseño universal con una perspectiva de equidad (justicia social). \nQUIÉN: Educadores del desarrollo infantil que deseen diseñar y brindar a los niños y las familias espacios de aprendizaje ecuánimes que apoyen y celebren a cada niño. \nPORQUÉ: ¡Cambiar las prácticas a través de la reflexión propia es difícil! Tener un espacio seguro para conectarse con otros educadores\, hacer preguntas y compartir ideas le puede ayudar a hacer este trabajo de manera más significativa y participativa. \nCUÁNDO: El primer miércoles del mes\, de 6 a 7:30pm.  Los participantes deberán comprometerse a asistir la mayor parte de las sesiones PLC durante el período de 18 meses (receso en el verano). \nCÓMO: Los propios participantes ayudarán a desarrollar la agenda de cada mes\, a compartir recursos\, y se apoyarán mutuamente a medida que fortalecen sus prácticas anti-prejuicios. \nAudiencia Designada: Proveedores de cuidado infantil en el hogar y educadores que cuidan a niños pequeños que no sean los suyos propios.  Los participantes deben trabajar o ser residentes del condado de Napa \nOrganizado por Quality Counts\, First 5 Napa County y Community Resources for Children

In this module we will cover definitions of trauma\, the foster care system\, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)\, the impact of trauma on the brain and children’s behavior\, neuroplasticity and resiliency\, strategies to support children and build their resilience\, and minimize the adverse effects of trauma and practice applying trauma informed strategies. \nModule 2: Enhancing Caregiver Resiliency\nIn this module we will cover the importance of self-care for all ages while providing strategies to help with burnout and compassion fatigue. We will go over burnout & compassion fatigue and learning and understanding adult triggers\, the concept of “window of tolerance\,” how to help mitigate “fight\, flight & freeze” reactions\, the impact of stress on physical\, emotional\, & relational health as well as learning self-care strategies. \n** Participants who participate in both modules will receive incentives \n  \nParte 1: Descripción General del Cuidado Informado Sobre el Trauma\nEste módulo proporciona una descripción general del Cuidado Informado Sobre el Trauma y cómo afecta el desarrollo y el comportamiento en los niños/ niñas/niñes. DESCRIPTION:The Equitable Early Childhood Classroom  \nCurrent research shows that children notice differences and begin forming biases from a very young age. Using an Anti-Bias framework in the early childhood classroom provides an environment where everyone’s unique life experiences are explored and respected\, and supports teachers to model equitable and anti-racist behaviors for young children. This engaging and virtual workshop explores the many facets and applications of Anti-Bias Education and the latest equity tools to prepare teachers for the work of creating more inclusive learning spaces for all children and families. \nLearning Outcomes: \n\nExamine lived experiences with bias and privilege and their impact on teaching\nUnderstand power structures within race\, class\, gender and ability\nPractice inclusive and supportive language with young children and families\n\nThis is a FREE workshop for all Region 1 Hub Quality Counts participants and all caregivers.
