Community Resources for Children (CRC) partnered with Solano Family & Children’s Services to bring Exploring the Benefits of CACFP to Napa County child care providers. The workshop gave providers an opportunity to learn more about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), ask questions, and explore how the program can support the children in their care and their businesses.
Thirteen providers attended the workshop, sparking great conversation through questions, shared experiences, and thoughtful discussion. Attendees also had the chance to hear from Elizabeth Virgen, Child Care Food Program Specialist with Solano Family & Children’s Services, and a local Napa County child care provider currently participating in CACFP. Together, they shared helpful information, practical tips, and firsthand experiences that brought the benefits of the program to life.
CRC also hosted a book giveaway, where each attendee selected up to three books, and wrapped up the evening with a toy raffle. Along with books and resources, providers left with a greater understanding of CACFP and the support available through Solano Family & Children’s Services to help them take the next steps.

Community Resources for Children (CRC) se asoció con Solano Family & Children’s Services para ofrecer el taller Explorando los Beneficios del CACFP a los proveedores de cuidado infantil del Condado de Napa. Este taller brindó a los proveedores la oportunidad de aprender más sobre el Programa de Alimentos en el Cuidado Infantil y de Adultos (CACFP), informarse y considerar cómo este programa puede beneficiar tanto a los niños bajo su cuidado como a sus negocios.
Trece proveedores asistieron al taller, y surgieron conversaciones excelentes a través de preguntas, experiencias compartidas y reflexiones contemplativas. Los asistentes también tuvieron la oportunidad de escuchar el testimonio de Elizabeth Virgen, Especialista del Programa de Alimentos en el Cuidado Infantil de Solano Family & Children’s Services, y proveedora de cuidado infantil en el Condado de Napa, quien actualmente participa en CACFP. Juntos, compartieron información valiosa, consejos prácticos y experiencias de primera mano que ayudaron a dar vida a los beneficios del programa.
CRC también organizó un evento para regalar libros. Cada participante pudo seleccionar hasta tres libros, y la tarde concluyó con una rifa de juguetes. Además de los libros y recursos que los proveedores recibieron, también obtuvieron conocimiento acerca de cómo participar en el CACFP y asistencia disponible a través de Solano Family & Children’s Services para ayudarles a dar los próximos pasos.
