Puddle Jumpers Umbrellas
What You’ll Need:
Paper plates cut in half
Markers, crayons or paint
Colored paper (your choice for umbrella handle and for background to glue your umbrella on Pom poms, buttons or gems
Glitter
Glue
Scissors (grown-up help may be needed!)
Let’s Make It!
First, let’s make your umbrella! Let’s make it beautiful You can draw a rainbow, flowers, swirls, zig‑zags, anything! Fill it with colors and make it bright!
Next, let’s give your umbrella something to hold! Choose a sheet of paper with a color you want your handle. Draw a long ‘J’ shape. That’s the umbrella handle. Then cut it out, snip snip! Glue it to the bottom of your plate.
Umbrella Button Time!
Pick a little pom‑pom and glue it right at the top of your umbrella. That’s the button that helps it open… pop!
Get ready to go in the rain!
Put glue on the back of your umbrella and stick it onto your big paper. Press, press, press, all done!
Bring on the rain!
Decide what color you want the rain to be and draw little raindrops all around your umbrella. Plip, plop, plip, plop, make it look like it’s raining!!

Tijeras (¡quizá necesites ayuda de un adulto!)
¡A crearlo!
Primero, vamos a hacer tu paraguas!
¡Vamos a hacerlo hermoso! Puedes dibujar un arcoíris, flores, espirales, rayitas, ¡lo que quieras! ¡Llénalo de colores y hazlo bien brillante!
¡Ahora vamos a darle algo para sostenerse!
Elige una hoja del color que quieras para el mango. Dibuja una letra “J” larga. Ese será el mango del paraguas. Luego córtalo — ¡corte, corte! — y pégalo en la parte de abajo de tu plato
¡Momento de poner el botoncito del paraguas!
Elige un pom‑pón pequeño y pégalo arriba de tu paraguas. Ese es el botoncito que lo ayuda a abrirse… ¡pop!
¡Prepárate para salir a la lluvia!
Pon pegamento en la parte de atrás de tu paraguas y pégalo en tu hoja grande. Presiona, presiona, presiona… ¡todo listo!
¡Que caiga la lluvia!
Decide de qué color quieres la lluvia y dibuja gotitas alrededor de tu paraguas. Plip, plop, plip, plop… ¡haz que parezca que está lloviendo
