Melissa Gonzalez
Early Learning Family Support SpecialistMelissa Gonzalez has a decade of experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children. Most recently, she helped establish and worked as the Toddler Lead at Nahar, a Montessori-based program that served children and families for eight years. Through her experience in early childhood education and Montessori training through MTAC San Francisco Bay Area, she developed a deep passion for understanding and supporting the whole child, while creating inclusive, welcoming environments where children feel valued and empowered to thrive.
Working closely with a diverse range of children and families taught her that every child has unique strengths, needs, and experiences. While Montessori helped her understand child development from a holistic perspective, those relationships also showed her the importance of personalized support and strong family partnerships. She has seen firsthand how supporting families helps create the strongest foundation for children to grow, learn, and bloom.
Accessibility is especially important to her, which is one reason she is excited to be part of CRC. She believes CRC serves as a bridge that connects families to valuable resources, opportunities, and support within the community. She is honored to contribute to that mission while continuing her education in sociology, deepening her understanding of communities, families, and the systems that shape their experiences. Her goal is to continue growing as an advocate, educator, and resource for the children and families she serves.
When Melissa isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her siblings, friends, and her cats. She loves exploring new places, spending time outdoors, and getting excited over a good thrift-store find. She’s happiest when she’s with the people she cares about, trying something new, or finding creative ways to express herself.
