Module 1: Overview Trauma Informed Care
This module provides general overview of Trauma Informed Care and how it affects child development and behavior. In this module we will cover definitions of trauma, the foster care system, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the impact of trauma on the brain and children’s behavior, neuroplasticity and resiliency, strategies to support children and build their resilience, and minimize the adverse effects of trauma and practice applying trauma informed strategies.

Module 2: Enhancing Caregiver Resiliency
In this module we will cover the importance of self-care for all ages while providing strategies to help with burnout and compassion fatigue. We will go over burnout & compassion fatigue and learning and understanding adult triggers, the concept of “window of tolerance,” how to help mitigate “fight, flight & freeze” reactions, the impact of stress on physical, emotional, & relational health as well as learning self-care strategies.

** Participants who participate in both modules will receive incentives

 

Parte 1: Descripción General del Cuidado Informado Sobre el Trauma
Este módulo proporciona una descripción general del Cuidado Informado Sobre el Trauma y cómo afecta el desarrollo y el comportamiento en los niños/ niñas/niñes. En este módulo cubriremos las definiciones de trauma, el sistema de cuidado de crianza (Foster Care), las experiencias infantiles adversas (ACE, por sus siglas en inglés), el impacto del trauma en el cerebro y comportamiento de los ninas/niños/niñes, la neurobiología y la resiliencia, estrategias para apoyar a los niños/niñas/niñes y desarrollar su resiliencia, como reducir los efectos adversos del trauma y la práctica de estrategias de cuidado informado sobre el trauma.

Parte 2: Incremento de la Resiliencia del Proveedor de Cuidado
En este módulo, cubriremos la importancia del cuidado propio para personas de cualquier edad y brindaremos estrategias para ayudar con el agotamiento y la fatiga por compasión. Repasaremos el agotamiento y la fatiga por compasión y aprenderemos a entender las causas de esto en los adultos, al igual que el concepto de “ventana de tolerancia”, cómo ayudar a mitigar las reacciones de “lucha, huida y parálisis”, el impacto del estrés en la salud física, emocional y social, así como estrategias de cuidado propio.

*Los participantes que asistan a ambas sesiones, recibirán incentivos.
